Individual Therapy

Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. My goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By using a variety of different therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.  If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Teen Talk

My approach in working with teens is to provide a safe space to talk things through. I help teens identify how to manage stress, improve social skills, cope with peer issues, learn skills to work through anxiety or depression, and how to create realistic expectations for themselves. Early intervention is best so that teens can move through adolescence, deal with problems effectively as they arise and avoid a pile-up of compounded problems.

Telehealth

Services are provided over a secured platform to your location (home, work, etc.) on your smartphone or computer. Most clients find this convenient and efficient, cutting down on travel time. Telehealth offers flexibility to people who might otherwise not be able to access care due to physical illness, lack of  transportation, or other issues.

Military

Studies show 1 in 4 active duty military show signs of a psychological condition. The most common are Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Depression, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). While some psychological symptoms lessen over time, the following are signs that further help may be needed: difficulty controlling anger, emotional “numbness”, lack of connection to others, hyperarousal “on guard,” flashbacks, intrusive memories, insomnia, difficulty being in crowds, or increased alcohol consumption/addictions. If you or a loved one are struggling with these symptoms, talking with a psychologist may help.
I am committed to serving those who have served this country with professionalism, the best evidence based treatments, and compassion. I have specific advanced training in trauma therapy (including combat trauma), moral injury, and am certified in Prolonged Exposure — considered the gold standard in treating PTSD. However, different approaches work for different people, personalities, and presenting issues. Let me help you heal the invisible wounds of military service and get back to living a joyful life!
